Bambu Lab Announces the P1P, a Customizable 3D Printer With Insane Speed

What’s going on?

Bambu Lab, the creator of the X1 Carbon 3D Printer, surprised everyone by launching the P1P 3D Printer.

Why it is important

The P1P will offer similar speeds to the X1 but at a lower price. Every printer can have its own unique outer shell.

Next steps

The P1P is available for purchase today at $699 from Bambu Lab

Bambu Lab had just launched the X1 Carbon 3D printer. This was not long ago. The X1 shocked the 3D printing community with its AMS colour system and incredibly high-speed printing. This was to be the company’s primary platform for a very long time.

Bambu Lab instead announced the P1P, a cheaper, newer 3D printer. Like the X1 Carbon, which has yet to fully launch), and the AnkerMake M5 Recently, I reviewed the P1P and it prints at speeds that are far above the industry norm. Bambu Lab claims the P1P can print at a maximum speed of 500mm/s. This is almost 10 times faster that most other printers, and twice as fast as the Anker. Best 3D Printers available today.

The P1P’s customizability is a major selling point. CoreXY frames are essentially a shell that has anchor points. You can add your own bodywork to the CoreXY frame. These examples include bright, pixel-art to tool storage pegboards. This may be one of the ways Bambu can lower the cost, since you build the outside.

Cross-compatibility of the X1 Carbon’s AMS systems is the last major trick this midrange printer has. The Automatic Material System allows both the X1 and the P1P to print multiple colors in one print. Multicolor printing does not seem impossible with the aggressive pricing of Bambu Labs.

The Bambu P1P is now on sale for $699. Shipping will start at the end 2022.
