February is Saskatchewan Aboriginal Storytelling Month and the Moose Jaw Public Library has ready applications for the event in collaboration with the Wakamow Aboriginal Group Affiliation (WACA).

One other thrilling piece of stories for the Moose Jaw Public Library (MJPL) is their acquisition of an Ultimaker S3 3D printer. Printing jobs are open to the general public by submitting an .STL file via a web-based digital request type.

No library card is required. Shoppers will obtain an electronic mail when their construct is full and pay for the supplies (money solely) on pick-up.

Aboriginal Storytelling Month

The MJPL’s Saskatchewan Aboriginal Storytelling Month applications happen on February 24 and 25 in two areas: the MJPL and the brand new WACA workplace within the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre.

There shall be three applications, every led by poet Tenille Campbell and Elder Barb Frazier.

Applications are free to attend and don’t require registration. The aim of Aboriginal Storytelling Month is to advertise Indigenous cultural traditions and cross-cultural relationships. Storytelling is the oldest history-keeping customized there’s, passing down household tales, important survival expertise, religious traditions, and extra — making a dwelling archive for future generations.

On Friday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. within the South Assembly Room, in a session directed at youths aged 13 to 17, Campbell will share poetry and poetry-writing tips about constructive self-expression, constructive sexuality, and self-actualization.

On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. within the South Assembly Room, Campbell and Frazier will current a day of poetry, supported by the Library Companies to Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples (LSSAP) committee.

On Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., on the Cultural Centre WACA workplace, Campbell will share poems of affection and celebratory self-care.
