Ballot paper printing delayed due to lack of facilities, funding


COLOMBO (News 1st); Ballot papers printing has been delayed indefinitely.

The Government Printer stated that there were issues regarding the date and lack of printing facilities for ballot papers. This led to the Government Printer deciding to postpone printing ballot papers indefinitely.

The Government Printer said that all ballot papers printed are now in a secure place.

Printing ballot papers was plagued by interruptions because of lack of funding or police protection.

The Government Printer stated that printing ballot papers takes between 25 to 30 days if the required facilities are in place.
